MEET ALLY
Meet Ally, a super sweet, super pink rag doll for a special girl that is turning 1 year old in a few days! She was so fun to make, my first light brown hair girl. I used light pink and brown materials and she is extra girly with light pink bows. I even added a pretty bow to her shirt that matches those in her hair and on her skirt. I think Ally is so special, and Billie loved her, too. She was sort of wishing she had a rag doll just like Ally that could maybe be friends with Abby, so I think I will try to make her one soon. If you want a rag doll they are $23 plus shipping and you pick the colors. Email your order to crystal@jcstitches.com. If you want to make your own super cute, super fun, super personalized rag doll you can buy the pattern at Shiny Happy World and she even has wonderful tutorials to help you along the way.
GIRAFFE AND BLANKY
This sweet giraffe and matching blanky is for a baby shower gift. They both turned out so sweet and special. Billie, my 11 year old, still treasures her "blanky and Cody"(her blanket and stuffed dog she has had since she was teeny-tiny.) I imagine this blanket as that type of heirloom quality blanket. It is hand finished and I used super soft dot material for one side, super silky giraffe material for the other and trimmed it all with special silky "feelies" as Billie calls them. This was a learning experience for me, making this blanket. I learned a lot about rotary cutting and hand sewing. I enjoyed all of it so much. I especially enjoyed making the giraffe. I already posted a previous blog about my first attempt at the giraffe. This I did from the same pattern and just used sweet little baby boy fabric to finish it off. It turned out perfect, if you ask me. I am so pleased and I hope the baby boy that receives it will love it for years to come, too. If you want a giraffe, I am offering them for $12 plus shipping. You pick the color scheme. Just send me an email if you want to place an order crystal@jcstitches.com.

SWEET NAPKINS
OK, these have nothing to do with dolls or baby clothes, but I absolutely love them and because they are just so sweet, I had to put them up. They are super easy to make, and you can go to Shiny Happy World to get the FREE pattern and make them yourself. They are great practice for beginners - turning corners and top stitching, and great practice for making baby blankets - which is what I am now working on! I got this material for Mother's Day and really wanted to make kitchen curtains out of it, but since I do not have a window in my kitchen and only sky lights (they would look very silly with curtains, don't you think?) I made napkins. It matches my every day china and it will make our next family dinner feel like a feast - even if it is frozen pizza! If you aren't ready to make some for yourself but want some, shoot me an email at crystal@jcstitches.com and let me know color/pattern you would like and I will hook you up! 4 napkins for $12.

SHINY HAPPY WORLD
If you want to try sewing but do not know where to start go to Shiny Happy World. Wendi Gratz has created an amazing blog with lessons, patterns, and great ideas. She even has video tutorials to go with every pattern. Her patterns are inexpensive and easy to follow and most are an easy download right from your email and you can get started right away. I use many of her patterns for the things I create and they are by far my favorite over all the other patterns I have used. Sewing is a great way to relax and de-stress (unless you get a knot or a jam in your machine - and then just take a deep breath and pour yourself a glass of wine while you slowly and patiently get all the kinks out!) It really is like therapy, and when you are done you have something beautiful that you have created all on your own. HAPPY SEWING!
LOVE IS A RAG DOLL

Both love soccer and ice cream!
Izzy and Abby
Didn't even want to put her down to clap her hands!
I got the pattern for these precious dolls from Shiny Happy World, Wendi Gratz created them and they are super fun and not very hard to make. If you have a machine, you can make them. Just follow her easy and friendly instructions, she even has videos to help you if you don't know or understand something. The dolls take a full day to make, but they are so much fun to create. So just hop on over to Shiny Happy World, buy the pattern and then download it, it is that simple (and they are on sale today, too!) The only challenging part is putting the doll together once you have all the arms, head, and legs pinned it gets very tight. But as long as you take your time you will be just fine.
If you do not have time or do not want to make one for yourself, I will make them for you! Just let me know hair color, style, and eye color and of course color scheme for the doll (Billie's is in purples and Harper's is pink/green, but I can do any color you request). I can do high pony tails, low pony tails, or curlz and I can put bows on them or no bows. Any color skin, too! You dream it up and I will create the perfect rag doll for your little girl. The dolls are all one of a kind, and I created these two to match my girl's features and personalities and I am sure that is why they instantly fell in love with these sweeties. The dolls are $23 a piece or 2 for $40 (plus shipping if you are not local.) Just send me an email with your order to crystal@jcstitches.com.

PILLOW CASE DRESS
Introducing sweet Addison Lane, could she be any cuter?! Love this little miracle baby!
Here she is with her softie bunny! Addison was born at 25 weeks gestation, just 1 pound 8 ounces. She is the definition of strength and determination. She fought so hard to be here today. She just celebrated her 1st birthday!
This is the pillow case dress I made for Addison for her 1st birthday gift. She is so perfect, she makes the dress! If you want a pillow case dress, I just need to know size (like 6 mos, 1 year, etc.), length and weight of child(if you know this), and color scheme (this was brown and pink).

This is a three-color version of the dress - $27 - plus shipping if you are not local
WELCOME TO JC STITCHES
Welcome to JC Stitches. I began sewing clothes and dolls for my own children and as shower and birthday gifts to the children of my friends and family. After many flattering comments and requests, I decided it was time to offer my simple talents to those who might appreciate a hand-crafted doll or dress to give to their own children or as a gift to a child they love. I wanted to do something that will help others a little (OK, not important help like being a NICU nurse, but still helping) and bring smiles to the faces of children. I hope you will find something here that will do just that. The dolls are soft and huggable, and a little whimsical. They are all different and special because they are hand-made by me, with sweet embroidered noses, eyes, and mouths and with materials hand-picked to be soft, warm, and cuddly! The dresses are so fun and one-of-a-kind, too. Just tell me the color pallet you want and I will create something just for you. I will try to honor any request you have if it is at all within my power, so just email me if you do not see something here that you find to be exactly what you were looking for. Whenever I can, I will also share the link for the pattern so if you would rather make it yourself you will be able to. Sewing is fun and relaxing and I encourage everyone to give it a try! Keep checking back, I will be adding new items as quickly as I can perfect them!
