Tie is made from ruffle material instead of using ribbon- makes it softer and more comfy!

I am very excited to add a twist to my pillow case dresses - the girly ruffle to the bottom and coordinating tie made from the same material.  This one is red, white, and blue but still very girly! Ballerina and Soccer Star

These sweet girls received dolls as a gift from their Grandma.  The Ballerina was a challenge, but she turned out so sweet and pretty!  She has a bun in her hair, ballet slippers, and a matching tutu and leotard! She also wears glasses, since the girl she was made for also wears glasses.  The glasses are removable, too. The other doll is a soccer player, similar to the one I made for Billie~ which was the first doll I ever made.  I am in love with these dolls!  Billie fell in love with the ballerina, so I will be making her one of those soon.   In the works at JC Stitches now: UT Vol gear!! Dresses, tunics, dolls, burp clothes, and more!  I hope to get some completed and up on the blog this week, so check back later for that.

I am in love with this criss-cross tunic!  It is so cute, so comfy, so easy, and so reversible!!! I will eventually have some ruffle capri pants to go with it, but until then you need to pick up your own - it would go great with leggings or just simple bloomers like I put on Harper for these photos:

Reversed! The front of the "outside" ~ I actually thought I liked this pattern best, but now that I see it on her, I think I might like the other one just as much, if not more.  The cool thing is that it is two tunics in one!

With her standing you can see the length better, it is a tunic, not a dress.

Pink Pillow Case Dress

This sweet doll is for a special birthday girl (SSHHH! it's a surprise!)

I absolutely love these patterns and how well they turned out together.  It is so soft and sweet and girly, but quirky and whimsical, too! My favorite combination to date!

I name all of my dolls as I am making them and this one is no exception, but I can't tell you her name yet because I named her after the girl I was making her for and it is a birthday surprise.  All of my doll names end in a -y-or -ie sound, and the fabulous little girl this doll is for already had a perfect fitting name for her.

MEET ALLY

Meet Ally, a super sweet, super pink rag doll for a special girl that is turning 1 year old in a few days!  She was so fun to make, my first light brown hair girl.  I used light pink and brown materials and she is extra girly with light pink bows.  I even added a pretty bow to her shirt that matches those in her hair and on her skirt.  I think Ally is so special, and Billie loved her, too.  She was sort of wishing she had a rag doll just like Ally that could maybe be friends with Abby, so I think I will try to make her one soon.  If you want a rag doll they are $23 plus shipping and you pick the colors.  Email your order to crystal@jcstitches.com. GIRAFFE AND BLANKY

This sweet giraffe and matching blanky is for a baby shower gift.  They both turned out so sweet and special.  Billie, my 11 year old, still treasures her "blanky and Cody"(her blanket and stuffed dog she has had since she was teeny-tiny.)  I imagine this blanket as that type of heirloom quality blanket.  It is hand finished and I used super soft dot material for one side, super silky giraffe material for the other and trimmed it all with special silky "feelies" as Billie calls them.  This was a learning experience for me, making this blanket.  I learned a lot about rotary cutting and hand sewing.  I enjoyed all of it so much.  I especially enjoyed making the giraffe.   I already posted a previous blog about my first attempt at the giraffe.  This I did from the same pattern and just used sweet little baby boy fabric to finish it off.  It turned out perfect, if you ask me.  I am so pleased and I hope the baby boy that receives it will love it for years to come, too.  If you want a giraffe, I am offering them for $12 plus shipping.  You pick the color scheme. SWEET NAPKINS

OK, these have nothing to do with dolls or baby clothes, but I absolutely love them and because they are just so sweet, I had to put them up.  They are super easy to make, and you can go to Shiny Happy World to get the FREE pattern and make them yourself.  They are great practice for beginners - turning corners and top stitching, and great practice for making baby blankets - which is what I am now working on! I got this material for Mother's Day and really wanted to make kitchen curtains out of it, but since I do not have a window in my kitchen and only sky lights (they would look very silly with curtains, don't you think?) I made napkins.  It matches my every day china and it will make our next family dinner feel like a feast - even if it is frozen pizza!
